These materials make "no pretense to intellectual eminence or scholarship sublime". They are based on the manuscript parts available for rental or purchase from Kalmus, and one of my goals was to make the materials reasonably compatible with those parts, since many G&S companies already own them. I have corrected errors and inconsistencies in these parts in an informed and sensitive manner, but not necessarily a scholarly one.

The materials have been performance-tested multiple times. I'm grateful to the conductors of those productions for sending me errata, suggestions, and even the results of their own scholarship. I have incorporated their modifications into the materials for the benefit of future conductors.
